Star-crossed lovers unite! Take a stroll with us through the charming medieval old town of Verona, the picturesque home of Romeo and Juliet - home to one of the jewels of the world of wine… Amarone.
Its production is truly a labor of love…harvest in whole bunches, let them rest and wither in the attics of the region exposed to the delightful air of the Veneto… and wait. After pressing, the wine is then aged in barrels for two to five years. Amarone is remarkably age-worthy and an unexpectedly versatile pairing partner for food.
We will taste through three producers, with different styles of Amarone being tasted, including their cousins from around the region of Valpolicella. Thank the lovers in the stars for this specially themed dinner featuring the lush, layered, deeply complex reds of Veneto…the perfect pairings for a decadent four-course dinner created by Executive Chef David Daniels.
