Manger, Commonwealth Wine School

Kim Simone is passionate about wine and making it accessible, engaging, and fun. With a career spanning two decades in the wine business, she is currently the Manager and one of the lead educators at the Commonwealth Wine School in Cambridge where she teaches WSET and Society of Wine Educator courses, as well as her own classes on beer and wine. She previously held the position of Corporate Sommelier for the Legal Sea Foods restaurant group under Master of Wine Sandy Block, and helped curate the wine lists and develop educational materials for their staff. Her winding career path has included a stint selling wine for both the Martignetti Company and Ruby Wines, running her own wine tasting business, hosting an AIRBNB Experience focusing on the beverage culture of Colonial Boston, and lecturing at local colleges. She also has podcast The Wonderful World of Wine. Kim holds Level 3 certificates through both the WSET and the Elizabeth Bishop Wine School, is a Certified Specialist of Wine, and attained the distinction of Highest Honors for both French Wine Scholar and Spanish Wine Scholar from the Wine Scholar Guild. She has a Masters’ Degree in Gastronomy from Boston University, a BA from Colgate University, and is currently a candidate for Certified Cicerone for beer professionals.
